Derrick Alloway is a bilingual/bicultural Clinical Social Worker licensed in New Jersey and New York. He speaks English, Spanish and has an understanding of Portuguese and has served clients of all cultures, ages, the LGBTQ community and ability levels.
Derrick has been practicing for 22 years and has worked as a clinical supervisor/clinician in mental health supportive housing, hospital and outpatient clinic settings. He provides assessments and treatment to young adults and children with behavioral and developmental disabilities through NJ Children’s System of Care (CSOC) Performcare.
In addition, he works in a NJ urban public school district to identify , classify and case manage students with emotional, behavioral, learning or developmental disabilities. Since he founded DAMA he has worked to create a network of other professionals, therapists and providers from multiple health and educational disciplines in all the 21 counties of NJ.
Derrick continues to provide support and guidance to new clinicians particularly clinicians of color/multi cultural clinicians seeking to establish their own practices. he advocates for enhanced opportunities for students with developmental disabilities aging out of the public school system.
